Well im 2 wks post op and feeling much better, less stiff. And much less swelling,the bruisings going too. Went to the clinic to get navel stitches removed YUCK.I know it dosent hurt but cos its numb i cant stand it being touched,just feels weired. Mr Sforza  took the stitches out  and said its looking ok. Although today the incision is leaking a tiny bit in the middle,he said this happens a lot as its the weakest point. Just  continue with showers twice a day. And savlon in the belly button & leaky bit,and vasaleen on the rest of the incision. Havent got to go back till May ,unless there is a problem. So all good.

Well its been a rollercoaster wk,and im off to the clinic for a check up today.We wouldnt normally drive up town,but im not up to trains and tubes yet.Well i thought id just see the nurse,but Mr Sforza took the dressings off and cleaned it.He said its looking ok ,gave me a prescription for antibiotics  for a week just to be sure. I can shower now,but have to use antibacterial soap on my tum lather it up and gently clean. Then dry thoroughly and spray savlon on and cover wounds in gauze,but no tape just cover with binder.  Got to do this twice a day,he will take stitch out of belly button next Thursday. I am not liking doing this,as i really dont like how it feels ie numb. Idoesnt hurt ,just reminds me of when i had my c sections .

I was up on the Saterday at 5am ,cos they were taking my drains out at 5.30 am. This is the bit i was really scared about,but it was fine really. And i felt so much better without them. After breackfast dh helped me get washed and dressed to go home. The hospital and staff were lovely,nothing was too much trouble .The journey wasnt as bad as i thought. They gave me extra pain killers and the driver was very good.It was lovely to get home and see the kids,Id missed them .They had put banners all round the house wlcoming us home,and got my friend who looked after them to get chocs and made  cards.

We had to be up at 4 am, cos we were being picked up between  4,30 and 5am. Fortunatly when the hospital called to confirm a time they said dh could travel down in the car with me.We got to the hospital Dolan Park in Bromsgrove at 7,30 am,they were fairly busy peaple being admitted and discharged. Had bloods done,then shown to a roomon the ground floor,but the nurse explained that cos my op was a majour i would be up on the top floor but the rm wasnt ready and i would go straight there after surgery. My op would be at around 10.30am. So had a shower and put my gown on ready. Spoke to the anesatist ,then Mr Sforza came to mark me up and go through the  procedure and consent form.Then the nurse came to take me to theatre,my dh walked to the doors with us and i was really scared. The staff were great though reasurring me,found it really weired that you actully walk into theatre and are put to sleep in there not in the room before. I remember him putting the cannuler in and asking me what i drink,then i was back in my rm,dh sitting beside me.A few hrs later i needed to pee,so they got a bedpan telling me i wasnt allowed out of bed for  6 hrs.Well tring to pee in that position is not great,i couldnt go. The nurse said most tt patients are like that try again in a bit. The second time i did manage a bit. Ohh the releif. Next 2 times i had to go theyhelped me on the cammode,and gave me a freshen up &put my own nightie on. When i needed to go in the morning they helped me to the on-suite ,i was bent over like an old granny. But it got easier every time ,as long as i took it slowly.

Im married with 6 children,2 sets of twin boys,and a single boy & girl.After   both sets of twins amounting to nearly 12 pound of baby each time then a 10 pound baby & 2 sections my belly is so not good. After a hysterectomy last April i decided i wanted a tt. Im booked with thg  Mr  Sforza on 25th Feb, its taken us this long to save enough money. Its been great reading up on here though.My friends think im mad,but im looking forward to not tugging my belly in my jeans and taking my kids swimming,cos right now i wouldnt be seen dead in a swimsuit.
