1 week post op today update

[Good to go]

Hi,

No shower, no washing hair, no shaving legs, no nails on, no moisturiser tan on, wearing long white socks & girdle that comes up my back with two long straps down the front, oh and of course that hunched "evolution" walk......... Well arnt I a catch!!!

Well day 7 has arrived and wow the week has gone quick.

I'm only on parcetomol now as when I need it. The only thing that is giving me hip is my back as I can't walk straight.
I can toddle around but get very tired and exhausted quick, so I'm having naps in thè day. Yesterday I think I overdone ur as went into the kitchen and wiped around the surfaces (OCD!) and then felt knackered for doing that.

Getting lots of wind feelings, stretching, pulling sensations. My belly is still swollen and numb in the centre all the way down. I had MR done too.

It's just the lack of energy I'm finding hard, but I need to keep reminding myself that it won't be forever.

I think once I see the nurse next thurs and then I can shower ( I am hand washing!!! ) then I might feel a bit more human .

Glad to hear you are doing well and not in pain.

Back ache seems to be the common theme, pain varies but the back ache is always there. It is the one thing i am not looking forward to, it is going to be a killer for me, i suffer with back ache being quite tall anyway so the stooping will play havoc.

Take it easy and try to rest up.

Remember those no shower,hair washing days.
I had mine 6th june and my back is still rubbish but heaps better(my back isnt great at best of times)
The weeks will fly by cant believe it mine seems ages ago now.

This is Why I love this forum, I'm 3 days po and you have just described everything I'm going through to, it's good to know that it's all 'normal' stuff. My hubby washed my hair for me today over the kitchen sink and I even managed to run the straighteners over it, and even with no make up no tanning no nails and all the other things that make us feel girly just that little thing of washing my hair has given me a new lease of life and made me feel a million dollars today! Lol Although, I was exhausted afterwards it was worth it.

The numbness is the strangest thing for me, it's like I forget then I'll move and stretch the repaired muscles and then it's OUCH!!!

I'm having my drains removed tomorrow and dreading it! How much does it hurt?

I remember when I was told I could finally have a bath.I just layed there till all my fingers and toes were all wrinkly. Then I stood in the shower and let the hot water just rundown me. It was bliss. It wont be long and it will be worth the wait x

i just had my first shower on saturday

I had to go 4 weeks without one!!!!!!!!! all my family have been walking around with pegs on their noses and i wont even describe the crap that came off me but OMG what a lovley feeling ... each day im finding i can do little things that i couldnt do before but nearly 5 weeks on and im feeling 90% back to norm

Oh ladies ... what do we put our selves through ! ... all worth it in the end ... glad your all doing great and after reading some posts from peeps who are not as far on as me its weird to think thats what i was like' but really ..it dosent take long for them things to go away : ) xx
