Rhinoplasty in ManchesterHey everyone,
Im new to this forum so not entirely sure how many replies ill actually receive! Im looking to have my nose reduced from thoroughbred-horse size to human size, and would preferably have it done somewhere near home (Manchester) SO far, Ive been told to stay away from the likes of Transform etc, but have been recommended the 'Nu-Look' Clinic (Part of BMI hospitals).. Would really appreciate any advice, especially from those of you who have had, or know people who have had, rhinoplasty done in Manchester..... Im also hoping I could have some work done to reduce the length of my nostrils (quite long), but would this is a much more intricate/lengthy procedure to carry out?? Cheers M.
Welcome
But posts like yours worry me. Rhinoplasty is all about the surgeon, not the clinic.
Maybe check the BAAPS register for some names near Manchester www.baaps.org But rhinoplasty is the one op worth travelling for. Research rhinoplasty andyou might come to realise that yourself. Check the rhinoplasty links in the Plastic Surgery Info above. The one entitled diagram of the nose is a good first read.
Nostril work is tricky not because of the surgery but because the healing can be unpredictable. Surgeons don't usually touch nostrils unless they are really bad, they wouldn't try to correct a slight asymetry for example. Lots of people don't have a matching set, operated on or not.
Sometimes the surgeon will decide on the day if the nostrils need doing after he has done the rest. It's even a simple op to do at a later date if he decides it's necessary after all.
My surgeon told me last night that he doesn't think alar reduction on the nostrils heals up too well and that he could drape the skin over the new structure and stitch it in a way my nostrils won't be as obvious.
Maybe ask what exactly can be done realistically Fee ![]()
Hey
Thanks for all the advice harri/princess... I have had a look at the BAAPS register, and emailed some of the surgeons there. The only reason I wanted to know about clinics was that I could find out what the general environment was like (cleanliness etc), but obviously I would only go for one if it had a promising, reputable surgeon working there. Sorry if messages like mine 'worry' you, Im on here to get info, not to exhibit my prowess in rhinoplasty knowledge. Anyway, thanks for the info, hope to hear back from the BAAPS surgeons soon. Has anyone had much experience of the BUPA hospitals in Manchester (Whalley Range and Warrington), they seem to have numerous BAAPS surgeons working there....??? Thanks
Sorry if I upset you. There was no offence meant although obviously there was some taken. Maybe I could have put it better but it's probably safer if I don't respond to your posts in future.
This forum is all about surgeons. Some other forums are more about clinics. Check the Ask Me A Name thread for some idea about how to look for a good surgeon. It's not easy
